My father-in-law passed away December 2. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of travel, tears and decisions. We’re doing well. While it wasn’t unexpected, it wasn’t expected either.
So to Fred, I raise a glass of sweet tea and cornbread I’ve made just for you. They were your favorites I cooked, and you said they were just like your mother’s.
Thank you for being an amazing father and grandfather. I’ll be forever reminded of you by the way they walk and stand, as it’s identical to you. The apple certainly didn’t fall far from the tree in certain aspects.
And thank you for accepting me. I’ll appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.
