Halloween Food–#3

by Lisa on October 21, 2009

It’s getting closer to my favorite spooky time of year! Halloween is next week. I think one of the reasons I love Halloween so much is that my birthday is also the same week! Plus, there are always trips to the Pumpkin Patch. So, for me, it’s like my own personal holiday.

To carry on my Halloween food series, I am giving you Hot Dog Mummies. They are adorable for the little ones and  super easy to make.

Ingredients:

1 package of bun length hot dogs (I use Nathan’s)
1 package of refrigerated bread sticks (I used Pillsbury)
Mustard

Directions:
Open breadsticks. Pull one off and stretch it lengthwise. Take the larger end and place at end of hot dog, leaving room for a “face”. Wrap your hot dog like a mummy. Place on baking sheet that is lined with a piece of parchment so it doesn’t stick. Bake at 375 until bread sticks are golden (about 13-15 minutes). Dot mustard on for the eyes!
