Susan Niebur left us a year ago today. She left behind not only a family, but a legacy. Susan was a wife, mother, scientist, and to everyone who met her, friend.
I sat today and read through her Twitter stream today. And I cried. Because at times she asked for prayers, but most of the times, her tweets were filled with optimism, laughter and excitement.
What I remember most about Susan was her unfailing humor, positivity and courage. Susan was a woman who inspired and encouraged us all.
Today, I ask that you take a minute to read this poem and consider donating to the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society. These organizations were the ones Susan applauded for their work.
