What does Lisa love? Here’s a quick run-down that is not only fluid, but cyclic at times.
- Coffee. Lisa has been known to write haikus proclaiming her love of coffee.
- Philanthropy. Some call it social good. Lisa just likes to think she’s making a difference, even if it’s minuscule. Every little bit counts.
- Vintage. Really, anything from the 1920’s – 1950’s. In fact, you can often find Lisa hanging out over at The Fedora Lounge.
- Makeup. Lots of makeup. All of which goes into a MAC professional train case.
- Cooking. Lisa was born and raised in NC, spending a lot time underneath her Grandmother’s feet. If you visit, you will be fed well and often. She’ll then offer you a glass of syrupy sweet tea to wash it all down, followed by a very good Bourbon.
- Technology. To say Lisa has a slight tech obsession is an understatement.
- Social Media. Lisa met her husband in a chat room in 1998. You know, the original Twitter.
- Photography. Lisa studied for four (4) years and has logged many hours in the darkroom. She is not a professional photographer but uses her training for images not often seen here.
- Design. Lisa loves good design. Currently, she’s obsessed with navy blue and looking for the perfect sofa in that shade.
- Fashion. She may be a plus-size gal, but Lisa has been reading Vogue since she was 10 and her monthly fashion magazine subscriptions have left many a postal worker beaten down and exhausted due to their heft.
- London and Paris. Lisa is torn between Anglophilia and Francophilia. It’s an ugly internal battle.
- High tea and wine. See #11 for explanation.
- School supplies. Tom Hanks character, Joe, in “You’ve Got Mail” won her heart when he said he’d send Kathleen a “bouquet of newly sharpened pencils.”
- Travel. Lisa went to Europe at 15, without parental supervision, on a school trip. She ditched her group and instead of seeing the Louvre, paid homage to Jim Morrison at his final resting place in the Pere Lachaise. Wanderlust is her middle name.
- Crafts. An eager, yet under-talented, crafter, Lisa recently spent hours trying to paint polka dots on wooden Easter eggs.
- Organizational products. It’s a zen thing.
- Music. Any music. All music. Well, not all music, but most music.
- Washi Tape.
Writers that have influenced (and continue to influence) Lisa:

- Anne Rice
- Louisa May Alcott. Lisa is not a huge “Little Women” fan, but adores the story of “Eight Cousins”
- Henry David Thoreau
- Nora Ephron
- John Steinbeck
- Christina Katz
- Shakespeare (Seriously. Lisa has read all of his works by the end of 6th grade.)
- Mary Kay Andrews
- J.K. Rowling
- Anyone who can write a good Hallmark novel
