Sitting in the car during carpool yesterday, I was thinking about life, my own personal thought process, and what shaped me into the person I am today. I grabbed my notebook and started scribbling what I’ve learned. By the time the kids got to the car, I was two pages in and my brain was still whirring. So, why not share it here on Fridays.
1. Scrunchies are evil.
2. So is the “spinster” bun I’ve been known to rock a little too easily.
3. Toes ARE a fashion accessory, especially in the summertime.
4. Sunscreen is a must, even in winter. Yes, I’m very serious.
5. Don’t be afraid to color outside the lines. Life moves too fast and if you blink you’re going to miss it. If you stay in your comfort zone and neve step outside, you will miss so much. I want to see all of you take that chance! Dance in the rain. Sing in the car, with the windows down, as loudly as you can, while stopped at a stop light. Ask the uncomfortable questions.
But most of all, don’t be afraid to be you. It’s okay if you let you personality shine through. Sadly, we feel we have to give ourself permission to shine. Stop self-censoring, go out and show the world who you are. You’re fabulous. And if you don’t believe, just ask me.
If you don’t believe me, maybe Ferris will convince you.
